Swiss Aviation Photography with Power by Martin Thoeni, allways capture the airshowaction Damit alle Fliegerfans schneller und einfacher zu meinen Flugzeugbildern gelangen, habe ich mich entschieden, eine neue Domain (WWW.POWERPLANES.CH) zu registrieren. Ich hoffe, Ihr findet Euch trotzdem noch zurecht auf meiner Seite. Der Weg über WWW.POWERBILDER.CH ist nach wie vor offen. Ihr könnt somit noch immer über "die Hintertür" zu meinen Fliegerbildern gelangen. Auf den folgenden Seiten zeige ich Euch einen Auszug aus meiner Tätigkeit als Aviatikfotograf. Dies beinhaltet Fotos von diversen Airshows, Base Visits, Axalpshootings, Specialevents, etc. Ich versuche immer die Action möglichst spannend und interessant einzufangen, eben Airshowaction pur! Ich bin häufig an Airshows in der Schweiz aber zum Teil auch im Ausland anzutreffen. Ich habe mich auf ground to air spezialisiert, da dies meiner Meinung die interessanteste Art der Aviatikfotografie ist. Bei air to air Aufnahmen ist das Reizvollste das fliegen, das fotografieren ist hier schon fast sekundär und ergibt sich fast ein bisschen nebenbei. In der Regel fliegen die beiden Maschinen mit gleicher oder ähnlicher Geschwindigkeit und der Fotograf muss "nur noch abdrücken" (es gibt natürlich auch hier herausragende Ausnahmen). Bei der Aviatikfotografie vom Boden aus ist der Fotograf weit mehr gefordert (meine persönliche Meinung), schliesslich muss er sich den Gegebenheiten wie Geschwindigkeit und Landschaft so gut es geht anpassen. Meist wird schweres Gerät (grosse und schwere Telelinsen) benötigt und dies noch möglichst flexibel, weshalb ich ohne Stativ arbeite. Ab und zu finde ich auch den Weg zum Flughafen Zürich, denn auch dort lassen sich manchmal ganz interessante Bilder "schiessen. Natürlich fotografiere ich Flugzeuge nicht nur an den genannten Locations, sondern auch, wenn es sich einfach so ergibt. Selbst während dem Sonntagsspaziergang kann es vorkommen, dass ich ein interessantes Flugzeug ablichte oder zumindest eine interessante Begebenheit in Zusammenhang mit der Fliegerei ;-) Es würde mich und meine Frau natürlich freuen, wenn Ihr Euch auch auf unsere Homepage WWW.POWERBILDER.CH "verirrt" und vielleicht sogar das eine oder andere Bild findet, welches in Euer Heim oder Büro passt ;-) Ich wünsche Euch so oder so weiterhin viel Spass beim betrachten meiner /

For the english speaking friends of aviation photography: That all the interessted people will find the way faster and easier to my aviation pictures, I decided to register a new internet-domain (WWW.POWERPLANES.CH). I hope, you still find your way through my homepage. The way from www.powerbilder.ch to my aviation pictures is still open. On the following pages I show you some of my pictures from airshows, base visits, axalpshootings (shooting range in the swiss mountains), specialevents, etc. I allways try to capture the action in a interessting an dramatic way, lets say pure airshow action ! I'm visiting many airshows in switzerland and sometimes in other countries as well. I'm spezialized on ground to air photography, because this is in my opinion the most interesting way of aviation photography. When you're doing air to air, the most faszinating is the flying itself, taking pictures is quite a secundary thing which is just going beside. Normally the aircrafts flying at the same or quite the same airspeed and the photographer "only must push the shutter" (there are some extraordinary exeptions of photographers!). For ground to air pictures, the photographer has to do much more (my opinion). He has to work with different speeds of the objects, different landscapes etc. Most of the time is the use of big an heavy telelenses necessary, this must go on very flexibel, so I never use a tripod (all of my aviation action pictures are made handhold!) Time after time, I find the way to Zueirch-Airport, where you can shoot some interessting pictures as well. Naturally I take photographs from airplanes also at other locations, even when i'm doing a walk with my wife I take some pictures from planes... It would by a pleasure for me and my wife, when you would have a look on our other photographs on www. powerbilder.ch. Maybe you find a pictures for your appartement...?
